Worship Pastor

The Worship Pastor at Mountainview Christian Church will lead the worship arts ministry including musicians, vocalists, and production team leaders. They will be a visionary who can understand the context, visualize where we are headed, and strategically plan and build accordingly. They will lead passionate worship from their capable gifts in vocals and leading from an instrument (preferably guitar or keys).

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the primary stage and team leader for weekend services.
• Be responsible for cultivating dynamic worship services that flow well with the message content.
• Build teams by attracting, recruiting, and caring well for volunteers.
• Sense, create, plan for and lead moments of worship where people authentically connect with Jesus.
• Bring people along by intentionally introducing new songs and strategically utilizing hymns or spirit songs on occasion.
• Leads pastorally – helps people understand the importance of worship, explains words, concepts, and songs, to draw people into a worship that is in spirit and in truth.
• Rich theologically – thinks and leads theologically with a grace bent.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

• This leader can lead a band and vocals well from their own musical knowledge and experience.
• This leader can competently supervise and speak into the production team.
• This leader is a servant leader, humble and willing to serve in other areas as needed.
• They are a Leader of Leaders, and lead by example in being a good teammate and team builder.
• This leader discerns what songs and service content will be edifying for the congregation, and makes decisions with wisdom.
• This leader has been in full-time worship ministry for 3+ years.
• This leader leads with passion, joy and conviction. They lead by example on and off stage.
