Ministry Opportunity
- Venture’s philosophy is to cultivate an atmosphere free of distractions during weekend services, while nurturing new talent and encouraging growth. They are committed to creating experiences that help people encounter God in transformative ways, led by teams that reflect the heart and diversity of their community.
- Venture is eager to find someone to help build a vibrant, worship culture and community. You’ll have tremendous influence and work alongside a great staff and committed volunteers, many of whom have served faithfully for 10+ years.
Beliefs & Theology
- Venture is a non-denominational church with a conservative theological foundation. They focus on unity around core doctrines (“majoring on the majors”) and do not take firm positions on secondary issues such as charismatic giftings. They hold a complementarian view of church leadership, meaning they do not have women serving as elders or teaching in the main weekend gatherings. However, they do affirm and empower women in pastoral and leadership roles across several of their ministries. You can find out more about Venture Christian’s beliefs at https://venture.cc/what-we-believe/
- High-Excellence, High-Expectation Organization: Venture operates a large, complex weekend environment with multiple departments (Worship, Production, Creative, Marketing, Guest Experience, Coffee Shop) aligned around a unified weekend experience. They are an elder- and senior-pastor-led culture that values strong systems, preparation, and theological clarity. They place high value on both excellence and authenticity—services should be distraction-free, Spirit-led, and pastorally sensitive, not just polished.
- Relational, Team-Oriented Staff Culture: The staff see the church as extended family in a high-pressure, high-cost Silicon Valley context; relationships and trust are critical to longevity. Cross-functional collaboration is normal—worship works closely with teaching, production, creative, and guest experience every week. Leaders are expected to be present with people (staff, volunteers, congregants), communicate clearly, and engage in healthy conflict when needed.
