About This Organization

Sojourn Woodstock started as a neighborhood bible study in 2012, planted as one of the original church plants out of the Sojourn Network (now known as Harbor), which started out of Sojourn Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Woodstock was chosen as an over-churched, yet under-gospeled community that was in great need of the gospel of Jesus. Sojourn was planted with a vision to be uniquely present in the community and for the community, seeking to share the gospel story while also serving the people of Woodstock and participating in community life redemptively.

In the Spring of 2019, the Sojourn congregation raised capital and purchased our current property on Main Street for office space and a meeting venue for both the church and the community. This was a strategic investment to meet some immediate needs but also serve as the foundation of pursuing the long-term vision of a multi-use space in the heart of the city.

Sojourn has 450-500 people in attendance at Sunday services each week. This includes 150 kids (infant – 5th grade). The youth ministry runs 40-50 students (6th – 12th) each week. Sojourn meets at two services on Sunday mornings at 9:00 and 11:00, utilizing a rented space in downtown Woodstock, the Woodstock Arts Theater. Sojourn owns the property on Main Street in downtown Woodstock which houses a church office building, as well as a gathering space used for Sojourn ministry and rented out to the public for events.

Sojourn is in the heart of downtown Woodstock, known as the “Downtown District” , which boasts a vibrant cultural scene, blending its historic roots with modern amenities. The area features a mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues, fostering a strong sense of community. The city offers five parks and an amphitheater, including water fountains, fishing platforms, athletic fields, walking and biking trails, playgrounds, and picnic grounds.
