About This Organization
At Saint Michael and All Angels, we believe that people are drawn to the parish for the same reasons our founders sought to establish the church more than 70 years ago: to worship God, to receive the sacraments, and to grow in their faith, as well as develop the faith of their children and grandchildren.
They come to be comforted and receive hope in a world that is often lacking. They come to be a part of something larger than themselves where they can serve and make a difference. They come to explore and develop their faith while engaging their God-given mind. Finally, they come to find a community with supportive Christian friends who are loyal companions, who stand by them in sorrow and joy and spur them on in spiritual growth.
There is a sense of community and belonging at SMAA. The people who attend will often find themselves engaged with one another outside of the church, whether in community involvement, business, school functions, or even vacationing together. There is a sense that the relationships formed at the church carry over into all of life.
Saint Michael and All Angels Church is seeking a leader and committed follower of Jesus Christ to provide adaptive leadership and oversight to the Children’s Ministry (birth–5th Grade) to build faith, form disciples of Jesus Christ, and equip parents to disciple their children. The vision is to move beyond simply focusing on the kids attending and expanding to the family as a whole in alignment with SMAA’s Core Focus: “Build Christian disciples for a transformed community.”
The Children and Families Director will be on the Formation team and will work together to expand the vision. The next CFM Director will need to collaborate with staff, volunteers and parents. Building relationships with these three groups will be crucial to growing the ministry.
The Children and Families Director at Saint Michael and All Angels Church will develop each child’s experience as they walk the journey of faith toward a life of following Jesus at their church home. An innovative, energetic and confident leader will thrive on this team and in this role.
