    Hillside Church of Marin is a growing, Christ-centered located in Marin County, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. Hillside is located in one of the most secular counties in the United States. In this highly secular location, God has always led Hillside to find ways to love, serve, and reach the different communities of Marin County. The latest example of this came in 2018 when God opened the door for Hillside to adopt and restart a struggling sister congregation in San Rafael. The dream of Hillside Church of Marin is to see Marin County transformed by the power of the Spirit and the truth of the Gospel.

    Position Description

    The Next Gen Pastor will provide leadership, development, and direction for the Family Ministry team to further the vision, mission, and strategy of Hillside Church of Marin. Hillside Church is located in Marin County, where the culture has a strong push against kids and students to be growing in their faith. The leader of this area needs to be an energetic visionary and equipper of people. T

    The person in this position will partner with the leadership team to develop the strategy and team to lead kids ministry at their two locations. This role will lead and develop volunteers, some part-time paid staff within Kids Ministry, and the Student Ministries Director.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all ministry activities, strategies, goals, and environments for children and students (birth – 12th grade), including Sunday mornings and special events.
    • Be the recruiter and developer of people who serve in NextGen Ministries.
    • Partner with parents and equip them on how to disciple their family.
    • Choose, lead and oversee the preparation of age-appropriate curriculum and programs.
    • Oversee the Director of Student Ministries
    • Provide pastoral care to children and families in the church, including hospital visits, follow-up, and counseling.
    • Able to occasionally preach within a weekend service.

    What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

    • A Visionary leader with experience leading volunteer teams in a NextGen ministry area.
    • Have a passion for kids and students to be discipled and grow in their love for God and people.
    • Proven organizational and administrative skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Two or more years of ministry experience in a NextGen area.
