Position Description

St. John’s is building on its 40 year focus on multi-generational ministry by bring on a full-time Family Ministry Director. This individual needs to be passionate about the next generation, a proven relational leader-of-leaders and ministry team builder, and an effective developer of others as disciples and ministers. They will be responsible for leading, administrating, and coordinating the youth ministries primarily to grades 7 through 12 while building relationships with all ages of youth within the church, as well as providing direction to part-time leadership responsible for children’s ministry up to grade 6. They should also be able to facilitate a team of adult volunteers, with year-round events and programming. The Family Ministry Director is a big role with big potential to enhance and expand a well-established, engaging ministry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide relational, team building leadership to disciple, equip, and multiply ministry with grades 7-12
  • Direct part-time staff leaders responsible for engaging, Christ-centered children’s ministry up to grade 5
  • Partner with families as primary discipleship influencers at home and church through resources, experiences, and serving opportunities
  • Envision, recruit, train, and deploy multi-generation lay leadership who are passionate about building into children, youth, and families
