    Position Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for designing and driving fund development activities for Mission Lazarus, Inc (ML). The DOD has primary responsibility to build philanthropic relationships through ML’s existing individual relationships, foundations, corporations, volunteers, and strategic partners.  This person will work in a fast-paced environment with fundraising staff, colleagues across all functions, and volunteers to assist efforts to build relationships to achieve growing, continual, and sustainable revenue streams.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
    • Minimum of five years of proven experience in the fund, development field and a proven track record of success.
      Experience working with NGO’s working in developing countries.
    • An excellent speaker and be able to present ML’s case for support in a passionate, compelling, and convincing manner both live and via teleconferences.
    • Experience designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising plans.
    • Progressive track record of cultivating, managing and leading major gift campaigns, managing and forging relationships with multiple donor sources, and demonstrated ability to solicit and secure significant major gifts.
    • Demonstrated skill at exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
    • Available to travel both domestically and internationally.
