Children's Pastor/Director

Oak Pointe Church is looking for a Kids ministry leader to take the baton of 25 years of solid ministry and not only carry it into the future but launch into the future, impacting generations to come. This next leader will oversee a Kids Leadership Team of eight part time members and provide ministry to 400 kids and their families on Sundays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cast vision, provide direction, and lead staff team and team members.
• Develop staff and team members.
• Recruit and equip team members.
• Collaborate with staff outside of Kids Ministry on projects and All Church events.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with parents.
• Lead Kids Ministry to provide great discipleship and fun for kids.
• Create and oversee Kids Ministry budget.
• Provide congregational care (hospital visits, funerals, “counseling”) for team members and kids in the ministry.
• Seek opportunities for outreach.

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

• Education: Bachelors required. Theological training preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrates the ability to lead volunteer and staff teams, recruit volunteer teams, and to manage large projects through completion. A minimum of 5 years of ministry experience is required.
• Characteristics: Christ-like character, Spirit-led, passion for kids, innovative, creative, and effective implementer. Team player who has a heart for outreach. Effective communicator within the ministry, with staff, and with parents.
• Skills: Strong ability to lead teams, cast vision, form strategy, implement, oversee initiatives, and matrix manage. Innovative self-starter, team builder, strong verbal and written communication, team player, proactive, detail oriented, and ability to multitask.
