    Why We Love This Opportunity

Metro Community Church was founded 30 years ago with a vision to reach those who had never been to church or perhaps had given up on church but who still needed to hear the truth about how much they mattered to God. Located in a growing suburb of St. Louis, Metro Community has embraced a multi-site model, launching its first multi-site campus in 2007. Today, they operate a combination of 2 multi-site campuses and 2 “house campuses.” Over the next few years, the desire is to place an even greater emphasis on launching more sites and to start a new multi-site campus every 2 years.

Metro Community Church has an expression of worship that is decidedly modern in style. They have a desire to push toward the next generation in everything they do consistently. This includes staying current with new worship songs, media usage, and other forms of expression. All multi-site locations execute the same elements and feature live music delivered, typically by a 5-piece band along with 2-5 vocalists in addition to the worship leader. Preaching is delivered live from the Edwardsville campus and video-cast to the other locations.

    About This Organization

Metro Community Church is primed for continued growth as it actively seeks to expand its multisite footprint over the next 5 years. The church’s ministry and influence continue to expand as it pursues its vision to be a church where people want to move closer to God, each other, and the disconnected. On any given weekend, it is expected that a large percentage of attendees fall into the unchurched category. One of the primary focuses of Metro Community Church is to create environments that are appealing, engaging, and helpful to everyone, including the unchurched.

    Position Description

The Campus Worship Leader will find a worship ministry at Metro Community that is healthy and stable. There has been solid leadership and a high level of artistry. The volunteer worship team is healthier than it has been in years and has grown younger, more vibrant, and better musically than it has ever been. Things are executed very well in terms of music and production, and the church is never afraid to try new things. With time and intentional development, much more can be achieved.

The Campus Worship Leader will report to Worship Central Director, who oversees all things related to worship across Metro Community Church’s campuses. This person will work alongside the Worship Central Director, other Campus Worship Leaders, and all Campus Pastor’s in carrying out the vision for the Worship Arts Ministry. The new hire will collaborate with others to execute high-quality, engaging, and coherent worship services reflective of Metro’s core values, community, and context. The Campus Worship Leader will oversee and own the health, care, and development of the worship team at his/her campus. This person will lead worship on their campus twice per month and will lead at other campuses on the other weekends.
