There are exciting days ahead at Bell Shoals Church, and they are poised for a vision-oriented, forward-thinking leader to come and help usher in the next chapter of children and family ministry. With a significant demonstration of commitment to the next generation, the leadership of Bell Shoals is ready for someone gifted and called to build teams, communicate the truth of God’s Word, and lead change to step into the role of leading the elementary age ministry.
Bell Shoals Church, in Brandon, FL, is located about 10 miles east of Tampa near Florida’s Gulf Coast. Started in 1961, they are now a multi-site, Southern Baptist church with five campuses in and around Brandon. Each campus has live teaching every weekend. Their theology aligns with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. There are six key values that Bell Shoals Church holds. Those values are Aggressive Authenticity, Relatable Truth, Unwavering Unity, Community Minded, Bold Moves, and Fearless Generosity.
In 2019, Dr. Corey Abney came to Bell Shoals Church as their new Lead Pastor. Since then, the church has put a renewed emphasis on all ministries focused on children, students, and families. Under the leadership of the Global Staff Team, which includes a Next Generation Pastor, the church has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in facility renovations to prepare for the next chapter of ministry to kids and families. The church also operates Bell Shoals Academy, a private Christian school for preschool – 8th grade.
The Elementary Director/Pastor oversees the 1st-5th grade ministry at the Brandon campus, the original and largest campus. This person will build and lead a team of committed volunteers while also helping to design and implement elementary-age programming. This includes casting a vision to move from Sunday School to Life Groups as well as implementing a large group worship service. As part of that worship service, the Elementary Director/Pastor must possess the skill and ability to personally communicate the Gospel to the kids in a fun, engaging way while also being able to train and coach volunteers to do the same.
