Bay Hope Church is a 35 year young innovative, multi-site United Methodist church in the greater Tampa Bay Area with an unshakeable focus on the future. They are known for making outrageous investments in the next generation. That is the hallmark of Bay Hope, evidenced by the recent six million dollar addition to their Lakeshore Campus for ministry to kids, students, and families. Bay Hope is excited to expand their team with a highly relational Central Kids Director who is a leader of leaders and has a shared passion for the Orange philosophy and a proven track record for building and empowering teams of volunteers and equipping parents to become the spiritual champions of their kids.
Lead Pastor Matthew Hartsfield, wholeheartedly believes that the Director of Kids Ministry is the most important position they will hire at Bay Hope Church.
Bay Hope Church is located in the heart of the Tampa Bay Area. Lead Pastor Matthew Hartsfield arrived in 1994, and Bay Hope has grown exponentially in attendance and impact in his 28 years. The staff has expanded from a group of 5 to approximately 100 staff across four campuses, as well as a phenomenal At-Risk Kids Ministry and a nationally acclaimed Day School for preschoolers. The leadership culture at Bay Hope is healthy, with a strong emphasis on soul care and personal development.
Over the past ten years, Bay Hope has expanded their reach through an online campus and its first multi-site location when it acquired and renovated a church in a nearby community. And in 2019, they opened a satellite campus at USF.
Prior to Covid, over 3,000 people were attending their weekend services, and they are beginning to feel the momentum build as new families are showing up each week.
Bay Hope has an authentic “You Belong Here” welcoming vibe that is indescribable. Worship is dynamic, the production elements are excellent, and the preaching is passionate, relevant, and hope-filled, making the church proud and excited to invite their friends.

The potential is endless as young families continue to move into the surrounding area. They are looking for a Kids Director who is a leader of leaders, passionate about building teams, developing leaders, and empowering families to own their walk with Christ. Bay Hope Kids is in need of a strong and relational visionary leader that has the ability to innovate and develop systems and best practices for a growing church. They are in need of an out-of-the-box-thinker with a fail-forward mentality that is not afraid to try new initiatives for both in-person and digital engagement.
The leader in this role will oversee the vision and strategy for Kids Ministry and must have the ability to develop a team approach to ministry and create an atmosphere of challenge and support for their staff. The new Director of Kids Ministry will need to create a system of development that equips and releases volunteers into leadership. The team is hungry for vision, coaching, and leadership.
