Youth Pastor

High Point ,

North Carolina

Community Bible Church is an Evangelical Free Church that leans reformed in their theology. They are a multi-generational, gospel-centered, Christ-centered, Bible-teaching contemporary family of redeemed sinners located in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina.

Church Description

Community Bible Church’s ministry footprint is located in High Point, North Carolina, a growing city of approximately 112,000 people, with almost half our city’s population being under the age of 35.

CBC is poised for gospel growth and gospel influence in their city and beyond. Over the past year, they have received over 300 first-time guests and baptized 22 people. God is working to create a greater sense of ministry alignment and enthusiasm about the mission (devote, disciple, deploy). This fall they launched the Everyone Generosity Initiative (a $5.5 million dollar capital campaign) with unbelievable support and excitement. They believe the Everyone Generosity Initiative will enable them to accelerate and maximize impact in their city, creatively connect to deepen relationships, and fiercely focus on what God has for the church next.

Community Bible Church is seeking to create a culture and context for ordinary people to experience the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ so they can display God to others and change the world for God’s glory, the good of their neighbors and the nations.

Position Description

Community Bible Church wants to strengthen parents and their children in specifically applying the gospel to every area of their life. Community: Students has a student leadership team and about 10 gospel partners (adult volunteers). The ministry is currently divided into three age groups; Route 56 (5-6 grade), Middle School (7-8 grade), and High School (9-12 grade). Grades 5-8 meet Sunday mornings for classes and grades 7-12 meet Sunday nights for their youth service.

The student ministry is primed for growth. A primary focus for this next leader will be to connect with the many students who call CBC home but are not currently attending the student ministries. With 48% of High Point’s community under the age of 35, there is great potential for future growth. There has been an influx of new phases, and many of the most spiritually mature students still have several years of high school left. The Student Pastor/Director will have a good foundation upon which to build. The biggest challenge will be building trust. After 2 years of instability, the students are ready for things to be stable in a more permanent sense.
