Worship Pastor

Why We Love This Opportunity

If you see weekend experiences as key to opening the door to lost people this role is for you. Rockharbor consistently sees 10% of its attendance getting baptized every year in a city that is predominately Mormon. With a new facility due to open by Christmas this church of 2600 is going to experience unprecedented growth and opportunity.

Church or Org Description

Since launching at Easter in 2012 Rockharbor Church in Boise, Idaho has been about reaching people where they are. This church of 2,600 has steadily grown because of an emphasis on authenticity. A focus on reaching people has resulted in seeing some 1250 baptisms since launching. “One of the things you hear around here a lot is that we are real stinkin’ people,” says senior pastor Keith Harrington, “This is a place where people can be real and explore a relationship with God.”

A continual focus on those who are not there yet has led the church to baptize 10% of the overall attendance annually and reach the next generation. With 41% of the attendance being under the age of 18, this is critical for the Rockharbor’s future. “We cover about sixty percent of our gatherings with expository preaching,” says Keith, “but even the others are firmly grounded in teaching.” The church is highly engaged in a vibrant city-wide network and seeks to continue to play churches over the coming years.

This growth mindset has led the church to begin construction on their first portable home. They hope to be in a new 1,400 seat auditorium by Christmas.

Position Description

There is currently a full-time production manager and a part time worship leader for the second location. All video and creative visuals is handled outside the worship department.

“The quality of our worship ministry is good,” says Scott, “but we need to take engagement to a new level.” With Rockharbor’s focus on authentic relationships, it is critical for this to be projected from the platform through worship. The team watches and learns from places like Elevation, Hillsong, North Point and others and the foundation of modern worship is in place.

“Our vision is to launch five locations in the next five years,” says Keith, “and we want to continue to plant churches. We must begin to develop pipelines of leadership in worship. Right now, it just isn’t happening.” This focus on raising up and developing others is critical for the next season in worship at Rockharbor.
