Worship Pastor

Why We Love This Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a pastor/leader who can build and lead a worship team. If you are looking for a church on the verge of a breakthrough in numeric growth and with diversified opportunities for leadership, teaching, preaching and worship leading… this is for you.

Church or Org Description

Cornerstone built a beautiful new building a decade ago off the Interstate in Grafton, a northern suburb of Milwaukee. Grafton is a mix of a blue and white-collar with a large percentage commuting into the once beer brewing capital of the country.

Cornerstone is currently a part of the Evangelical Free movement and a member of ARC (see more information about ARC here). This church of 200 is known in its community as a giving church. Last year, the church was featured on the front page of the local paper for sending tens of thousands of dollars overseas to rescue women and children from sex trafficking. Through this, their “Love In Motion” initiative, the church continues to keep needs, both regional and global, in front of the congregation so they seek to make a difference in the world outside the church walls.

Cornerstone is young with roughly a third of their church body being made up of Millennials and twenty-somethings. It has a strong emphasis on Growth Track classes to connect with new people and help them move forward in their faith.

Position Description

The church is seeking someone with a pastor’s heart and an entrepreneurial spirit, who can lead worship. “I’d love to see our worship leader preaching on Sunday mornings and/or teaching in other environments,” says Joe, “ there are many leadership opportunities available to engage in across Cornerstone ‘s three ministry departments: Connect, Grow, and Impact.

“Perhaps this person sees themselves someday even planting a church,” says Joe, “come here, grow in your leadership skills, build teams, get some preaching reps. You’ll be better when you are finished here, although we doubt you’ll ever want to leave!”

“We’re in need of a new start,” says Joe, “we need the leader to come in who can take the team we have and build for the future.” The church is currently using an interim worship leader from the area to lead. A new level of vision, excitement, and team building will be required.
