Worship Pastor

Church or Org Description
Mechanicsville Christian Center was conceived 45 years ago in the hearts of a small group of Christians who were part of a charismatic home Bible study in Mechanicsville. Along with several people from the West End Assembly of God, they founded MCC. Their first weekly service was held on June 15 – 1975, at the Hay Market Dinner Theater with 50 people present. From the beginning, their founding members placed a high emphasis on young people and missions. These priorities are still very present today and can be seen in their thriving kid’s and student’s ministries and their vibrant mission’s program. Over the years MCC has continued to build, enlarge, and update its facilities in keeping with its growing attendance and expanding the vision. Today MCC runs around 1050-1100 on a typical Sunday morning. About 20% of that increase has taken place over the past 18 months. MCC is enthusiastic about their future and impact God is enabling them to have in their community and around the world.

Position Description

MCC desires a leader who is passionate about team building and possesses a communication style that speaks life into people, bringing out the best in them. This role calls for someone who can continue to strengthen the team both in number and in community. The right leader will be one who leads by influence and not merely a position. This person will possess strong instrumental and vocal skills as well as a heart for God and an active walk with Jesus. This Worship Pastor will lead with a sensitivity to the Spirit of God and awareness for “spiritual moments” and how to lead the congregation towards the Father in worship.
This leader will bring oversight, management, and visionary leadership to the MCC Worship Ministry. They will serve as the primary worship leader for weekend gatherings and events while also raising up a team around them, having a desire to mentor other worship leaders. Their presence on stage and ability to engage the congregation in dynamic, joy-filled, Christ-exalting, Spirit-led worship with excellence will be a key component. Their leadership will influence the culture at MCC which includes all aspects of worship programming and creative ministry.
