|East Lake Community Church is a community of Christ-followers who exists to help others know the Word of God personally, live the truth of God collectively, and share the love of God generously. Since its beginning, East Lake has not been just a church in the community, but a church FOR the community. This church was formed in 1997 with the help of the South Carolina Baptist Association. However, East Lake remains wholly independent from any denomination in regards to faith and practice.
This Gospel-centered church is committed to leading people towards a life focused on the finished work of Jesus, the hope of the Gospel as declared in God’s Word, and the way this truth transforms us into becoming fully devoted disciples of Jesus. Over the years, East Lake has continued to become more multi-cultural as they reflect the people of their surrounding community.
The goal at East Lake is to create environments where people can encounter God in the midst of their life. East Lake is a staff-led and empowered church where the staff are given freedom to use their giftedness to advance the Kingdom and are trusted to do so without being second-guessed.

|East Lake’s worship style may sound reminiscent of current modern worship bands like Elevation, Bethel, Passion, etc. However, what this team strives for is to lead with an awareness of their immediate culture and those in their community. East Lake continues to become more multi-cultural as a church and their worship music is beginning to reflect this change. Ultimately, East Lake is looking for a spiritually aware Worship Pastor/Shepherd who will look at each weekend uniquely and allow the Spirit of God to lead their planning in a way that moves the heart of the congregation towards the heart of the Father in worship.
East Lake has a strong team of nearly 90 worship and tech volunteers who are highly skilled and excited to serve. The Worship Pastor serves on the Exec Team and will bring oversight, management, and visionary leadership to East Lake’s Worship & Creative Ministry. Their presence on stage and ability to engage the congregation in dynamic, joy-filled, Christ-exalting, Spirit-led worship with excellence will be a key component. This person will work closely with the teaching team (Rob Townshend & Ray Washington) in the growth and expansion of creativity within the context of weekend services.
