Worship Pastor

Church Description *
Calvary Baptist Church is a Gospel centered, Jesus-loving community located in the Lehigh Valley, in between Bethlehem and Easton, PA. It is one hour north of Philadelphia and 90 minutes west of New York City. It is comprised of three cities: Allentown, Bethlehem, & Easton. It is the third most populous region and fastest growing area in Pennsylvania.

Calvary Baptist Church exists to build gospel communities. This includes the smallest of communities, such as equipping and encouraging parents to disciple their kids, and extends to larger communities such as planting churches locally and globally. Discipleship has always been a part of Calvary’s DNA. They began a century ago as an outreach to German- speaking immigrants in south Bethlehem. Since that time, Calvary Baptist Church has gone through a couple name changes, several building projects, and relocations. But the DNA of discipleship remains the same.

Position Description *
The Worship Pastor at Calvary Baptist is more than just a song leader. This is about making disciples and fostering a strong worship culture in the church and among the Creative Arts ministry. This is about casting vision, developing leaders, raising up musicians, and choosing Gospel-centered songs for the church to sing. The Worship Pastor will utilize musical elements that are modern and ancient, contemplative and energetic, timeless and innovative. He will pursue a blend that maintains excellence without distraction. A pastoral heart that seeks to shepherd God’s people is central to this role.

This is more than music. It’s about caring for people, being a spiritual leader for the team, and developing musicians and singers. Being a Worship Pastor at Calvary is an opportunity to influence the culture of a great church in the Lehigh Valley. This isn’t just an opportunity to make music and lead songs, but a journey into making disciples and pointing hearts to the resurrected King.
