Why We Love This Opportunity
Bannockburn Church believes God calls the Church to do everything possible with what they have to love people with the love of Christ, share that love with them, and see them come to Christ and follow Him. Bannockburn wants people from all walks of life to know that they’re loved and wanted. Bannockburn is on the verge of an enormous surge of Gospel ministry in their area, and they’re looking for a leader that can help foster this within their church. If you have a missional mindset and a passion for how the Church can leverage music, worship, and production ministry to spread the Gospel, this is a great place for you. Exciting days are ahead as this church expands its missional mindset and uses contextualized ministry to reach its community and the world.
Located in Austin, TX, Bannockburn Church is a body of believers living on a mission to reach people far from God with the Gospel in an area where there is very little Gospel saturation. Planted in 1973, the church has been through a cultural transition over the last 6 years as they have adjusted their ministry philosophy and model to be most effective in their area. This has yielded incredible results as many have come to know Christ and have come into the church who may have never done so otherwise.
Each weekend, around 900 people gather across Bannockburn Church’s two campuses in South Austin and Dripping Springs, TX. The musical style is modern and utilizes guitars, keys, bass, drums, and 3-4 vocalists. Technology is embraced as the church employs a newly upgraded lighting system, IEM’s, HD video, Ableton, and Planning Center Online, among other technologies. A new line array PA system is also being designed and will soon be installed to replace the former system.
The new Worship Leader/Production (Creative) Director will oversee the worship ministries on the South Austin campus and production ministry across all campuses. The person who fills this role will oversee a staff made up of a full-time band/musical director, contract musicians, a technical team coordinator, lighting director, broadcast audio engineer, and video production manager.
The successful candidate will be a skilled worship leader who is also highly skilled in the production aspects of a modern church (audio, video, lighting, and broadcast). This person should also love developing people and empowering them to lead while striving for musical and spiritual excellence. The ability to “own the room” and engage well from the platform is a must. However, the new Worship Leader/Production (Creative) Director should be marked by authenticity, whether on the platform or working with production crews behind the scenes. Responsibilities in the area of production will apply across the multi-site model. The new leader will be influential in working with the Director of Operations to resource and support production ministry activities at all campuses. An incredible opportunity exists to develop and launch worship and production ministries on a new campus as Bannockburn expands its multi-site footprint in 2022.
