Why We Love This Opportunity
West of Chicago and into the beautiful surroundings of western Illinois, bringing life-giving multi-site ministry to seven different small and rural communities of Illinois and Wisconsin is the thriving ministry of Crossroads Community Church. This team and this church are for one another, for the Gospel and for seeing God do great things at every campus, including and especially the Winnebago Campus!
Winnebago, or “BaGo”, is located thirty minutes east of Crossroads’ original Freeport campus as well as a short drive west of downtown Rockford, Il. In between these two points is the brand-new permanent campus location of Winnebago, with a rich history, a vibrant new facility designed around the vision and values of Crossroads, and a committed and passionate congregation who are very excited to meet the leader who will guide them into the future as part of the greater Crossroads network.
On the cutting edge of ministry being done as “one church in multiple locations,” Crossroads currently has seven campuses in the Northern Illinois-Southern Wisconsin area and they are passionate about working together in reaching and serving people who live in a rural context with the message of the Gospel. Currently, Crossroads averages a combined total attendance of approximately 2200 in these services. The Freeport Campus serves as the “Central” Campus. The campuses span as far west as Galena and east to Sycamore. With a south campus is in Morrison, IL and a north campus in Monroe, WI, CCC has become a regional network of churches.
Crossroads Church believes God has called them to help bring transformation to rural communities for the cause of Christ. They are a Spirit-filled, non-denominational church and are progressive in their worship and methodology, while conservative in theology. They trust that God has a deep and lasting work to do in all people, and want to see the fruit of that in their impact on the communities and people that surround them. They currently have people from over 100 communities who regularly attend their seven campuses.
Working under the Lead Pastor of this multi-site church, the Campus Pastor (“CP”) provides overall leadership for a specific campus of Crossroads Community Church. He functions as the embodiment and primary communicator of the Lead Pastor’s vision at the local level. The CP is responsible for leading other leaders on the campus, both paid and volunteer.
