Why We Love This Opportunity
Under the leadership of an outstanding new lead pastor, Santa Cruz Bible Church is entering a new season of growth, momentum, and Kingdom vision to reach their city for Jesus. With a mission to pursue Jesus passionately, love fearlessly and go intentionally, SCBC is laying hold of the opportunities God has put in front of them.
The Technical Arts Director is a key part of this movement and will be a significant contributor to the mission of SCBC! A called, skilled and creative leader who is ready to develop and empower servant leaders and one who has a passion to reach the lost will be a great match for this growing community and dynamic staff team.
Church or Org Description
For over 130 years Santa Cruz Bible Church has withstood relocations, name changes, earthquakes, and transitions, and by God’s grace continues to pursue making disciples of Jesus in Santa Cruz County. What began in 1884 as the First Christian Church of Santa Cruz with twelve charter meetings in the YMCA became Santa Cruz Bible Church in 1986.
Today, under the leadership of Pastor Matt Roden, the church is regaining health, momentum, a new sense of vision and is growing again on mission. The staff and elders are united in vision and are focused on reaching Santa Cruz, a highly unchurched culture, with the Gospel while helping those who know Jesus mature in their faith and become disciple-makers.
Santa Cruz, for many, is a dream-come-true beach community along the north-central coast of California. Its long wharf with beach, boardwalk, shops, and restaurants serves as not only a local hangout but a sought-after tourist destination. This fantastic area is known for its moderate climate, incredible beaches, famous boardwalk, natural environment, coastline, redwood forests, great food, arts, and unique culture.
The Technical Arts Director will lead the way in the design and implementation of the appropriate technology needed to accomplish future ministry expansion. Proven, professional level, experience in live audio, lighting design, and video is expected. Additionally, this leader must have a strong understanding of online streaming and how to develop the infrastructure to not only execute this at a high, consistent level but also be able to troubleshoot when needed. They will establish AVL standards for the organization by which volunteers are trained and empowered to serve. Systems need to be established and consistency in gear needs to be deployed across the campus.
Additional experience in the area of pre-production video design including shooting and editing would also be of high value. Experience in graphic design will add even more value to the right leader.
They will work under the leadership of the Worship Pastor and work closely with the Lead Pastor, Executive Pastor, and other ministry directors and staff as appropriate. This person will be a ministry partner for the Lead and Worship Pastors and must possess a desire to engage believers and reach the lost.
