Senior Pastor

Church or Org Description *
“Mosaic Community Church – Philadelphia seeks to make their great city even better by joining in Jesus’ ongoing work in our world, so that all people might have spiritually-connected, purpose-filled, and satisfying lives.”

Mosaic Community Church is a community of diverse voices valuing redemptive experience, encountering Jesus outside of many of the cultural markers of traditional evangelicalism. Founded as a Vineyard Church plant in West Philadelphia in 2004, the membership has experienced significant cultural transition as they have gathered a committed, diverse membership with a big vision for their community. Mosaic Community Church chose to become an independent church in 2015. They renovated a building on the transitional edge of a changing neighborhood, and are primed for growth in a highly diverse, urban community.

They seek to be Jesus-centered, Inclusive, and Practical in all they do.

Position Description *
The Senior Pastor, in response to God’s ongoing work, catalyzes the growth and health of Mosaic Community Church through vision casting, leadership development, staff management, and direct ministry leadership. To this end, the Senior Pastor serves as the primary face and voice of the church, balances direct ministry leadership with development of staff and lay leadership, and ensures the strategic and energetic pursuit of Mosaic Community Church’s full potential.

The ideal candidate will show a passion for and commitment to Mosaic’s mission, have a demonstrated history of Jesus-centered inclusive theology, a strong desire to champion the value of faith within a diverse, secular-liberal community. Five to ten years of ministry (or leadership) experience and a Master’s degree are preferred.
