Senior Pastor

Church Description *

Yellow Pine Christian Church is a non-denominational church located south of Sibley in Northwest LA. Built 1902 in Webster Parish to serve the local sawmill and its community, the Gothic Revival structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Situated near beautiful Lake Bistineau, the church building and modern Fellowship Hall built adjacent to the sanctuary five years ago is a true gem hidden in the tall pine forests. The church is loosely associated with the Disciples of Christ denomination but is generally evangelical. Yellow Pine Christian Church and its warm fellowship is the center of its largely rural community.

Position Description *

Yellow Pine Christian Church is seeking a Senior Pastor to take the church into a new and fruitful season of ministry. They enjoyed a season of growth under previous pastors and would like to return the church to full strength and health.

The opportunity at Yellow Pine, as Jesus said, is to “Feed my sheep.” Yellow Pine needs an authentic pastor, with an old-school heart and a new school mind—someone who loves Jesus and loves people, and who wants to shepherd and teach a local congregation. Here in Northwest Louisiana a pastor can raise their family in a peaceful, safe environment, engage in traditional pastoral care of a largely rural congregation, hold services on Sundays with enthusiasm and vitality, and be nearly assured of a warm response. The ideal candidate will have Bible College or seminary degree, and at least five years of pastoral experience.
