Recent vision has been cast to raise $19M over the next two years that will be used to fund local and global missions, launch 3 new local campuses and plant 6 new churches overseas, and to help the struggling in Lake County, IL.
The new Pastor of Worship & Arts will be the primary leader on the Lake Forest campus. Christ Church is a multi-generational congregation valuing excellence in music. The demographic here requires a vast array of styles and genres of music. The Pastor of Worship & Arts position will necessitate a person who is divinely blessed with a wide bandwidth of ability and a high level of musicianship. On occasion, the church engages it’s classical roots using a choir and orchestra (5 or 6 times per year). But, styles now used can range from traditions such as acoustic folk, bluegrass, traditional jazz, soul, and gospel; to contemplative styles using a string section; to more contemporary worship teams. This is an opportunity to explore a fusion of styles to engage people more earnestly in transcendent worship. Leveraging the musical diversity here is no doubt a challenge but affords exponential results in the hands of the right person.
