Schweitzer’s impact in the city has grown decade after decade and is considered one of the larger UMC churches in the state of Missouri. Yet more than size or land or buildings, SUMC is focused on the hearts of the people in the community being transformed by the saving work of Christ, and that will not change.
Position Description
This Modern Worship leader has a growing relationship with God and is passionate about leading others in experiencing the presence of God in dynamic and creative ways. This person is skilled at team building and development, spiritually and musically. They understand how vibrant, Christ-centered worship connects with believers and the spiritually curious, creating worship experiences accessible to all backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Three to five years of experience in vocational ministry/or experience in a related field
- Passionate for vibrant worship services
- Strong platform communication and musical skills (vocals and at least one instrument)
- Gift of leadership, with ability to recruit, train, and develop volunteers and leaders
- Theologically astute can lead in ancient-future worship with appreciation and freshness
