Why We Love This Opportunity
FBC Boerne is entering a season of exciting ministry as they’ve recently called a new Senior Pastor and he leads them to embrace a new vision. The Minister of Worship will help build a new, multi-generational worship environment as they move from services with multiple musical styles to one unified expression utilizing band, choir, small group vocals and other instrumentalists. There is much anticipation for the future as FBC Boerne continues to engage their mission and vision and reaches this quickly growing community.
Church or Org Description
First Baptist Boerne is a vibrant, multi-generational congregation with an average weekend attendance of just under 1000 people and located in the Texas Hill Country just outside of San Antonio. As a church, they are actively seeking to meet the spiritual and community needs of one of the fastest-growing geographic areas in the country. The purpose of FBC Boerne is to be a Spirit-led and prayerful family of faith who have been empowered by Jesus Christ to love Him and all people through Biblical service. The church called a new senior pastor in December of 2019 who has brought fresh vision and momentum to this legacy church.
With the staff, the new Senior Pastor has shown himself to be a consummate team builder through listening, affirming, and always being open to new ideas. The staff is trusted to operate in their areas of expertise and are empowered to lead in those areas. The staff at FBC Boerne enjoy a collaborative and friendly environment where everyone enjoys working and having a good time together.
The Worship Ministry at FBC Boerne is currently very healthy and has great opportunity for growth. In the recent past, they offered different services with both modern and blended expressions. This appeared at odds with FBC Boerne’s vision and direction to be a vibrant, multi-generational congregation. Since re-gathering following COVID-19, they have embraced one blended style that leans toward the modern with a mind toward their multi-generational congregation. The new Minister of Worship will blend the talents of the choir, praise and worship team, and instrumentalists to continue building this new expression.
The Minister of Worship will serve as part of the pastoral staff at FBC Boerne and will report directly to the Senior Pastor. This person will be responsible for all things related to worship ministry, technical/media department, and prayer ministries of the church. The new Minister of Worship should understand the dynamics of crafting a worship experience that is multi-generational in its appeal while capturing the worshiper and drawing him/her into the moment. The successful candidate will be forward leaning, musically, with a passion for blending modern, band-driven worship music with a modern worship choir and orchestra while having the experience necessary to skillfully lead these teams.
