With the support of the Central Kids team providing curriculum and supplies, the Menlo Park Kids Director is provided an opportunity invest in the people in fantastic ways.
Menlo Church has a dynamic presence in the San Francisco Bay Area and has for over 100 years. It’s a vibrant, growing congregation of 5,500 across six local campuses. In an area where many are highly educated, unchurched (95-97% avoid “religion”), and opportunities for every walk of life and interest abound, Menlo Church is remaining distinct but keeping pace with its surrounding culture for the sake of Christ. To help this happen, the staff culture at Menlo Church across all campuses seeks to be humble, hopeful, and gritty. The leadership has worked hard to bring on healthy, self-aware, relationally-rooted followers of Jesus who will model grace and truth as they lead. As with all churches across the nation, Menlo Church had to close its doors over one year ago. They are thrilled to be re-opening in person on June 6, 2021 with the kids ministries targeted to open in July.
The Menlo Park Kids Director will represent the legacy of the past and the hope of the future. Being the original campus of Menlo Church and having an average of 288 kids each week, Menlo Park Campus not only has volunteers and families who have been long time members but they also welcome new families each week. Each Menlo Kids campus director reports to their Campus Pastor and has a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Central Kids Leader who provides alignment to all Menlo Kids campuses. The Menlo Kids Director will work to lead an integrated ministry that partners with parents and the broader church family to successfully launch children into a lifetime of faith in Jesus Christ.
The Central Kids team takes careful steps to adapt the curriculum to fit the heart of the church’s desire for kids to learn to follow Jesus. This way, the Menlo Park Campus team can focus on implementation, volunteers and the relationships with the kids! The next Menlo Park Kids Director should be ready to roll up their sleeves, rub shoulders with staff and congregants, and dive into the role with both feet as a leader-of-leaders and servant-of-servants.
