The biggest opportunity for the new Media/Communications Director will be giving input into the vision for the ministry, setting the framework for strategies, and building a team and culture for success. The new Media/Communications Director will understand that there’s much that needs to be executed on a week-to-week basis. Setting priorities and developing a strategy for growth will be essential to success.

On the cutting edge of ministry being done as “one church in multiple locations,” Crossroads currently has seven campuses in the Northern Illinois-Southern Wisconsin area. They are passionate about working together to reach and serve people who live in a rural context with the message of the Gospel. Currently, Crossroads averages a combined total attendance of approximately 2,200 in these services. The Freeport Campus serves as the “Central” Campus. The campuses span as far west as Galena and east to Sycamore. The furthest south campus is in Morrison, IL, and CCC has a campus as far north as Monroe, WI.

Crossroads Community Church believes God has called them to help bring transformation to rural communities for the cause of Christ. They are a Spirit-filled, non-denominational church and are progressive in their worship and methodology, while conservative in theology. They trust that God has a deep and lasting work to do in all people and want to see the fruit of that in their impact on the communities and people that surround them. The church was founded with a vision to serve and reach their community. They currently have people from over 100 communities who regularly attend their seven campuses.

Position Description

Primarily, the Communications/Media Director will relate closely with the Executive Leadership & Central Ministry team to conceive and implement strategies that amplify the priorities and passions of Crossroads Church. This includes developing and leading the staff and volunteer teams responsible for creative content and production at weekend services, special events, and promotional material across the organization.

This role is also responsible for keeping Crossroads Church’s creative elements innovative, intentional, engaging, and transformational. All elements should be planned with intentionality and executed with excellence. The Communications/Media Director will be responsible for leading a team that delivers engaging digital and print material that tells a compelling story.

Crossroads Church is in need an experienced leader with a blend of high-level artistic direction along with the necessary skills to develop and lead the following teams and areas:

– Marketing & Communications
– Branding
– Series Development
– Video & Audio Production
– Visual team (Design and Environments)

This person will organize and lead special projects to communicate the direction of the church through the use of, but not limited to, social media, emails, surveys, website, audio, and media campaigns to existing and potential members of the church.
