|The story of Graystone Church began in August 2003 as a Bible study in the home of founding pastor, Jonathan Howes, and his wife, Jennifer. This Bible study quickly turned into a core group of people who began to meet weekly for worship on Sunday mornings and by October 2004 Graystone Church publicly launched. In May 2006, Graystone purchased 11 acres of land and the next year the people of Graystone committed through the “Imagine the Possibilities” Building Campaign to build a $2.5 million dollar facility on their new land. Now, 3 locations later, the future could not be more promising for Graystone as they live out their mission “to know God and make God known.”
Graystone continues to look towards the future with faith and anticipation of what God is doing in their community and how he wants to use them to reach their communities for Jesus. This is a fantastic time for the right leader to plug into the culture of the Graystone Movement as this life-giving community takes intentional strides towards creativity, connection, disciple-making, and transformational growth.
|Position Description *|
|Graystone worship style is reminiscent of Vertical Worship, Bethel, Elevation, Passion, and Hillsong but they strive to lead with an awareness of their immediate culture and those in their community. They also love mixing things up with reimagined hymns and appropriately programmed cover songs but the bread and butter sound leans heavily into the style of the above bands. The Worship Ministry is in need of a bought-in servant leader who will bring strategic vision in setting a culture of spiritual connectedness, team-building, discipleship, and creativity. The right leader will raise the bar of discipleship, servant leadership, engagement, volunteer empowerment, creative expression and increased quality of the weekend worship experience both musically and technically.
The Lead Worship Pastor will bring pastoral and visionary leadership to all areas of worship, production and communications, and creativity including music, tech, media, service directors/producers, and video production. This new leader will be fortunate enough to have additional full-time staff members on their team who they will lead and oversee; a Production Director, Communications Director, and Campus Worship Pastors.
This is an amazing place to grow, lead, stretch and experience synergy with a healthy team while being a part of seeing greater Atlanta reached for Christ.
