|Sunbury Christian Church sits on a brand-new campus in the midst of a highly visible and prominent area. From the moment you walk on the campus, Sunbury feels like a family where everyone counts. When you enter a weekend service you see a multi-generational gathering of people extending you a warm welcome. The worship and message are both very authentic and Bible-based, and taught in a manner that makes God’s Word applicable to our daily lives (Monday through Saturday), and not just for Sundays.
Sunbury CC is a place where people with a sincere belief in the Bible and strong desire to reach the world feel right at home. Worldwide mission outreach and local community involvement go hand in hand. It’s a place where families with young children and growing teens, as well as retired seniors and everyone in between, have a place to grow in their faith. Sunbury Christian Church is just about 25 minutes north of Columbus, Ohio. The area that surrounds SCC is growing by leaps and bounds. There are great public schools, quality healthcare, easy access to city life and yet a small-town feel.

|The sky is the limit, but there are also several unique challenges at Sunbury Christian Church. First, the next Lead Pastor will need to have a healthy risk tolerance as the church seeks to become more externally focused in reaching Sunbury and other surrounding cities. Second, creating or collaborating to create the processes and systems that will grow SCC from 600 to 1,200 in weekend attendance. This is going to require a leader with some fresh vision and the experience to lead people towards accomplishing that vision. Third, there is a challenge at SCC as to how to maintain the church family feel in a way that still promotes growth. There are 600 people who attend SCC weekly and roughly 1,000 who call SCC “home” and though not everyone knows everyone, many people feel a family connection with the congregation. This family feel is a good thing; the challenge is how to foster this connection while growing to reach new families.
Qualifications for Lead Pastor are at least 5-7 years of experience in a senior or executive staff role with oversight of teams in a local church. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Christian College.
