Why We Love This Opportunity
Northland Church is seeking their next Lead Pastor who will serve as their primary teacher and, in concert with the pastoral team, will be a shepherd to the Northland family. They are poised to embrace a new leader to reach Central Florida to engage people to be fully alive in Jesus.
Church or Org Description
Northland Church in Longwood, Florida is a church with an average weekend attendance of approximately 3,000 with thousands more calling Northland their home. Longwood is located in Central Florida in Seminole County and is part of metro-Orlando, which is a short drive to all major attractions like theme parks, state parks, and beaches.
Northland was founded in 1972 and over the years has grown into a church of thousands, many of which engage online and have never stepped foot into the building. Northland has the vision to engage people to be fully alive in Jesus. They believe relationships form the church, not the walls.
The leadership and congregation of Northland see this as an exciting era. While the church’s mission and message remain unchanged, there is much anticipation about the opportunity to explore better expressions of the church for the community and the world.
The Lead Pastor is a critical role in Northland’s team leadership, serving as the primary teacher in concert with the pastoral team, a shepherd to the Northland family, and a mentor to the staff. The Lead Pastor wholeheartedly embraces disciple-making for King Jesus; skillfully and passionately develops the Teaching Team to be lovers of and excellent communicators of God’s Word; embraces the vision and values of Northland and promotes their implementation for the spiritual formation of the congregation.
The person seeking this role should have a pastor’s heart to shepherd and give oversight to the flock. They should be excited and able to stand on a stage and preach and lead but also willing to get their hands dirty and share in the mission and ministry initiatives of the church and in the lives of people.
