Vice President, Development
Good News Productions, International (GNPI)
Good News Productions, International (GNPI) is a team of global innovators whose mission is to share the Good News through strategic evangelism and provide effective resources to increase global disciple-making efforts. As such, they connect the dots between Christians who understand the cultures where they live and people who can put effective tools for spreading the Gospel into their hands. Through a worldwide network of partners, GNPI develops media and strategies to creatively contextualize the Good News of Jesus Christ for specific people groups. Their new Vice President of Development will serve as a key part of the organization, leading its fundraising and marketing efforts in the USA. Note: The successful candidate must be part of the Restoration Movement through the independent Christian Church or Churches of Christ.
GNPI was founded in 1975 to meet a need of kingdom workers around the world who were searching for materials to aid them in their disciple-making efforts. In the early days of the ministry, all of the videos and other materials were produced in the Joplin headquarters through a coordinated effort with missionaries and nationals. As growth continued and more funds became available—and as opportunities presented themselves—Regional Centers were birthed to carry out production for workers within those strategic intersections of the world.
Today GNPI is comprised of eight (8) Regional Centers or production facilities, numerous small production teams (Nomad Teams), and a network of ministry partners scattered across the world. GNPI is funded by contributions from churches, individuals and a few foundational grants. The Joplin office primarily functions to help in the coaching of new strategies and technology platforms and raising both awareness of the ministry and the funds needed to carry out the work.
In some regions, their mission is accomplished by creating music videos that are breaking into the mainstream arts and culture scene. In others, they’re using solar-powered projectors to bring a visual presentation of the Gospel to non-literate people groups who don’t have access to electricity.
In some parts of the world, they’re using digital advertising and social media to start conversations with Muslims who have questions about Jesus. In other places, they produce primetime television programs that preach the Gospel over the airwaves. In war-torn regions, GNPI distributes a radio program that calls people to peace through Christ and equips them with practical peacemaking skills.
The tools and platforms GNPI provides are designed to meet people where they are and help them take the next step of faith. You can learn more about some of their projects here.
The Vice President of Development serves on the Executive Team and works directly with the President to design all strategies for placing the ministry of Good News Productions, International in the public forum with the intent of meeting all of the financial needs of the ministry and growing its potential by developing both existing and new relationships of all types that would benefit the scope and purposes of GNPI. It is his/her responsibility to work closely with the President, VP of Operations, and VP of International Operations to maintain a continuity and efficiency in the ministry. The position does require relocation to the Joplin area.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a gifted and proven fundraiser and team leader. S/he will have experience in overseeing a creative marketing team who are engaged in developing all areas of print materials, digital productions, social media and marketing strategies for GNPI. The candidate should be able to attend conferences, church gatherings or any other opportunity where they can speak and share with donors what is taking place in the ministry. They must have the ability to make friends easily as well as to make the financial asks needed for growing financial partnerships. They should have a good handle on database and CRM management (especially helpful would be experience with Raiser’s Edge), and at least some understanding of grant writing and working with foundations.
