Director of Children’s Ministries
Why We Love This Opportunity *
Are you tired of “come, eat, leave” ministry? Done with running programs for passive attendees? Faith Church is finding fresh ways to infuse deep relationships back into the fabric of what it means to love God, one another, and this world. They’re committed to bringing on a Director of Children’s Ministries who will do the same in the lives of kids, families, and leaders. The church leadership, both staff and volunteers, roll up their sleeves week-in and week-out so that the surrounding community will see Christ through the family of Faith Church. If you’re looking to join a team that’s the real deal and champion a ministry to reach kids for Christ, you’ve got to check out Faith Church.
Church or Org Description *
Faith Church is located just 15 miles south of Seattle and draws people of all walks of life from around the region. It’s a diverse area, both ethnically and socio-economically, and God is using the family of Faith Church to reach it for Christ. Each Sunday, an average of 800 participate in the church’s modern worship services (9am & 10:30am), engage with biblical teaching, and deepen life-giving relationships. While Faith Church has a variety of ministries that serve the broader community, it’s known for intentionally building into the lives of kids, teens, and families. The last five years have been a season of growth for the church on multiple fronts. Today, the collaborative staff and volunteer leadership team of Faith Church is more dedicated than ever to its vision – “Loving and leading all people to lifechange in Christ.” They’re eager to see what God has in store in this next season at Faith Church.
Position Description *
Faith Church is relational to the core. The leadership and congregation love God and people in personal and practical ways. The next Director of Children’s Ministries needs to have a compelling philosophy of ministry that gets lived out both at home and as a pastor/director working with kids and families. In day-to-day ministry, this involves being a “player-coach” who is able to serve side-by-side as part of Kidz of Faith and also point leaders, families, and the church toward Christlike community. The children’s ministry at Faith Church has a strong core of volunteers (~120 leaders) and a high functioning ministry, but needs a defined ministry approach to keep everyone on-track and moving forward together. Whoever steps in as Director of Children’s Ministries to lead Kidz of Faith (~150-170 each Sunday) will have the opportunity to envision what happens each weekend and at anchor events/ministries throughout the year. Faith Church is ready to bring on a dynamic, leader-of-leaders who is called to reach and make disciples of kids, families, and those who step up to serve them for the sake of Christ.
