Creative Arts / Worship Pastor

Lee's Summit,

Missouri

Why We Love This Opportunity

Eagle Creek Church, a church of 1,700 in Lee’s Summit, is looking for a Creative Arts/Worship Pastor who can help align the worship team to the vision of the church. If you love creative leadership at the exec level this could be a great opportunity.

Church or Org Description
In September of 2004, Pastor Matt and Sheri Harris started Eagle Creek Church at Legacy Park with a few family and friends. Their dream was to be a church that connects with people from all walks of life and offer an environment where everyone can be empowered to become all that God has created them to be. That dream is now a reality as this multi-site church of 1,700 continually strives to help people far from God be filled with life in Christ in Lee’s Summit and now a second location in Harrisonville.

“We see people give their lives to Christ every week,” says Senior Pastor Matt. This happens through continuing to have high energy and relevant weekend programs. The open front door begins there. “We operate with excellence, but we don’t cut corners on spiritual depth and authenticity,” says Matt. It is more important to help connect people authentically with God than it is to “wow” people.

The goal of the weekend experiences is for the unchurched to immediately identify with the music and the atmosphere. “It should be creative, fun, and then they begin to discover that there’s something more here,” says Matt.

Position Description
The worship ministry has a large number (60) of volunteers at Lee’s Summit and commitment is high to one another and the team. There is a weekly rehearsal and the band has grown accustomed to using tracks when appropriate. Music and production have all taken steps forward in recent years, but a new level of authentic worship leadership is needed to connect with the congregation and move them forward.

While the worship and music has been one of the reasons people stay at Eagle Creek, the team and church is in need of a deeper sense of leadership both on and off platform. The lack of pastoral leadership has been a limiter for a depth of worship and expression that is desired to connect with the entire room from front to the back.

The church is looking for the type of leader who:

Desires to do things with excellence and will develop gifted people to lead.
Commits to authentic connection with God over performance.
Who has Godly Character and integrity.
