Why We Love This Opportunity
Chapel Pointe Church is breaking all the norms by GROWING in the midst of a global pandemic! We are excited to partner with them in their quest to find a high capacity leader to oversee all things growth and connection. This Connections Pastor will lead those in assimilations, discipleship and small groups, ensuring that people not only come through the front doors, but get connected through relationships and meaningful service.
Chapel Pointe has a history of faithful discipleship in West Michigan. The church was founded in the late 1950’s and has had a continual journey of growth and transformation. In the last 6 years, Chapel Pointe has experienced that same continued journey of transformation by engaging new families and expanded their facilities in 2019.
Chapel Pointe is at a healthy place as a church. They are building on a foundation of prayer and discipleship. The church has a fantastic leadership structure build around staff, elders, deacon-couples and lay-volunteers, all involved with the programs and relationships focused on reaching the unchurched and maturing Christ-followers. They are not afraid of taking risks and hope a new Connections Pastor will help them innovate and think outside the box of what can be done as they seek to reach more people with the good news of Jesus.
Chapel Pointe is a multi-generational church. They offer weekly services at 9am aand 11am. They have children’s ministry offerings at both services and student ministry taking place on Sunday evenings. Chapel Point is a highly relational church with 80% of their core people connecting through their vibrant small groups that meet throughout the week.
The role of the Connections Pastor is to oversee the connection and spiritual growth strategy of Chapel Pointe. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of Chapel Pointe and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its vision. The Connections Pastor will lead guests to a genuine sense of belonging, involvement and spiritual transformation. This will start by meeting people where they are and leading them to next steps on the journey of transformation. They will also facilitate relational connections through weekend guest services, small groups, volunteer teams, and assimilation of new members and community impact.
