Why We Love This Opportunity *
Be a part of the movement at one of the most influential and impacting multiplying churches in North America. Hill Country Bible Church is relentless in its mission to reach every man, woman and child with repeated opportunities to see, hear and respond to the Gospel in Austin and beyond.
Church or Org Description *
In 1985, God gave 17 people in Austin, Texas a dream to start a major movement of faith in their community. Already committed followers of Christ involved in a local church, the group sensed God’s call to begin a new church that used the best of both traditional and innovative approaches to ministry and outreach. Their goal was to create a Bible-based church that was free from denominational limitations, but responsible to work in conjunction with and seek input from a local association of like-minded churches. From the beginning, their priority was people – not programs.
Hill Country Bible Church is a family of believers committed to reaching people with the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ. The vision of HCBC is to ensure that every man, woman, and child in Greater Austin has the chance to experience the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ. HCBC accomplishes this by multiplying disciples, planting churches and launching multi-site campuses that are spiritually vibrant and strategically located.
HCBC is a welcoming community with committed leadership, and great biblical and relational teaching. HCBC is both a multi-generational and multi-cultural church. HCBC has a huge influence in Austin and beyond through the support and leadership it provides.
Position Description *
The Church Planting Director will lead HCBC’s Planting endeavors. They will work with the Campuses, Association of 25+ Hill Country Bible Churches, Staff, and with lay leaders to identify, assess, train and unleash the next generation of Church Planters.
This person will work with key leaders and staff to establish a robust leadership pipeline where hundreds of passionate Christ-followers are developed and deployed into every sector of society to serve as church planters, missionaries, pastors and effective leaders in ministry and the marketplace. The desire of HCBC is to see more and more leaders developed and sent out.
In addition to Church Planting and Leadership Development, this person will lead the Saturate Austin Institute (SAI). SAI is an “in house” four-course educational experience for people to learn and grow in biblical leadership principles, theological training with practical application and life change, and to be led by gifted and experienced instructors. This is one resource to develop leaders for next steps – allowing people within community and congregation to prayerfully consider what God has for them next, while they receive training and practical application (without having to leave their current community and jobs).
