Church or Org Description *
Compass has a passion and vision for the city of Chandler and the greater Phoenix area to have an authentic experience with Christ. At Compass, teaching is biblical, relational, and relevant. There is an obvious desire to settle for nothing less than authentic, theologically sound, and Christ-honoring experiences while making a missional impact on the community.
Compass Christian Church is vibrant, unique, energetic, and passionate in everything they do. Compass is driven by an urgency and vision to reach the lost and it is evident in every experience and ministry. Creativity and innovation are abundant and a culture of out-of-the-box thinking is refreshing at Compass. The style of Compass church is casual and they want people to experience God’s grace and love in every encounter.
The current average, overall attendance is around 2,200 adults and 800+ kids and students. With eyes focused on uncharted territory, Compass is embarking on a journey to make a greater impact through missions and giving. Part of the Uncharted generosity campaign is building a new 2,000 seat auditorium and completely remodeled children’s ministry facilities. Over the next couple years, Compass could easily swell in their impact to over 5,000+ average weekend attenders.
Position Description *
The Kids Ministries offer age-appropriate, engaging environments for kids and students to learn about, worship, and experience the God who loves them. The overall experience from when a family walks in the door is awe-inspiring and exciting. It’s clear that this place cares about kids and students! The Associate Children’s Director will lead a specific ministry area depending on their gifts and experience.
With several volunteer leaders under their care and leadership, it is vital that the Associate Children’s Director be a developer leader who is investing in the ministry leaders to help them reach their greatest potential. The leader in this role must have the ability to develop a team approach to ministry and create an atmosphere of challenge and support for all of the teams with their ministry.
The Associate Children’s Director will need to have a “can-do” and “get it done” attitude that is driven and at times hands-on, but knows when to lead the team from the sideline as coach. With several young leaders on this team he/she will need to lead by example and have the ability to cast a compelling vision.
