Student Pastor

New Holland,

Pennsylvania

We are so excited to partner with Petra Church to help them add a remarkable youth pastor with experience leading in charismatic environments and possesses a heart to influence not only the student ministry, but the entire church. With over 100 students represented in their youth ministry and multiple staff to help serve the students and advance the vision, this role is a great opportunity to advance God’s kingdom in the northeast region.

Church Description

In 1983, a group of 40 people gathered in the local New Holland, PA fire hall to worship and study the Word. In 1987, purchased land and built a sanctuary to seat 450.

Three building expansions later, Petra can seat 1800 and has student facilities to accommodate 350-400 kids and students. With a weekly average attendance of 1550 over two services and growing, Petra is impacting the New Holland area. In 2000, Sr Pastor Zimmerman led the founding of the Hopewell Network of Churches led by an Apostolic leadership team. Petra is now considered a nondenominational church led by an Elder team.

Petra is in a healthy season of growth and leadership. The students of Petra are of high importance to Petra Church’s leadership and church body. There is a strong, student-led culture. Small groups are an integral expression of the youth ministry. The approach to discipling and shepherding students can best be expressed in the phrase, “Small group leaders are pastors!”
