2|42 Community Church
|Church Description *|
|Just over ten years ago, in a middle school auditorium, a small community of believers set out to start a new kind of church. Driven by the vision of Lead Pastor, David Dummitt, they did just that. In 2014, 2|42 was the 3rd fastest growing church in America and 18th in 2015, according to Outreach magazine. Now, just over a decade later, 6,000 people come together across three campuses to celebrate Jesus.
With the desire to create a church that reflects what God designed it to be, the name 2|42 comes from Acts 2:42, where Luke describes the birth of the early church. They believe this model of community is the best tool to help people take next steps with God.
With powerful simplicity, the vision of 2|42 is to be “a community helping people take next steps with God.” To help people take next steps, they encourage people to Celebrate in a weekly service, Connect in a small group, and Contribute to the work of God in our community and around the world.

|A high value and necessity for a successful Worship Pastor at 2|42 is the development of a team. With five services weekly, the development of multiple vocal and musician teams are vital. This leader needs to be organized and able to communicate to volunteers, as well as have the relational capacity to pastor and care for the worship team.
The worship style of 2|42 is high-energy and modern with a relevant, theme-connected secular song that supports the message and connects with the crowd in a unique and memorable way. Musical and vocal excellence with high production value is key. They maintain a good balance of doing things right and keeping things from feeling “over produced.” Authenticity is the single greatest aspiration for the worship culture of 2|42.
During a weekend service you’ll experience high-energy leadership and engaging music in the style of Hillsong Young & Free, Elevation, and Passion, with a cover song thrown in that could be anything from Coldplay to Keith Urban, best describes their style.
