Worship Arts Pastor
|Church Description *|
|Crossroads Church has spent the last fourteen years in Westminster, Maryland being a place that values people over programs. Since just a handful of people gathered together in a small barn, this church has been a place where people matter. And it shows in all that they do. “One of our core values is that we want to be the hands and the feet of Christ, not just the mouth,” says founding and senior pastor Reid Robinette. “This has become a place that serves everybody who has a need.”
The needs are great. Of the 200,000 residents of Carroll County, best estimates put the disconnected church population 90% or more. This desire for Crossroads to be a place where everyone is welcome, no one is perfect, and anything is possible, led the leadership to recently launch a second location ten miles east in the town of Hampstead. Both of these communities are about twenty miles from Baltimore.
The major focus of Crossroads’ weekend services are those that are not in attendance. The unchurched and disconnected drive the vision of the church to connect and build authentic community, grow together on a journey of faith, and then serve by reaching out locally and beyond.
About 1,300 people gather every weekend who call Crossroads home, and the church is on a growth track right now with momentum due to the opening of the second location. There are plans for the third campus, and other worshipping communities throughout the region.

|Approximately fifty-five people are currently involved in the Worship Arts Ministry. This ministry encompasses all areas of music, production, service programming and creative team. This team is stretched, but has adjusted to two campuses quickly. The current Worship Arts Pastor, Jim Powell, has moved into the campus pastor role at a Hampstead. “Our church has benefited from the faithful service of Jim,” says Reid, “It’s obvious that his heart has grown for more focused leadership at Hampstead, he lives there, and this makes sense.”
Beyond Jim, there are three highly capable worship leaders in rotation. Two of these are on part-time staff, and carry weekly duties of planning and administration. There is also a full-time Technical Director overseeing the volunteers and technical operations, as well as a part-time creative video director.
There is a sense that the spirit of Worship at the church is real and authentic. It is approachable. While production and execution is important, a huge value to the team is authenticity and approachability.
The team is ready for this new level of ministry through a Worship Arts Pastor who is skilled in:
// recruiting & elevating the importance of accountability to excellence
// leading beyond a single location, and bringing influence across multiple campuses
