Woodcrest began as a dream to be part of a different kind of church. In 1987, a small group of people in Columbia, Missouri desired to create a church that was helpful, exciting and relevant to people with messages that would apply directly to their lives. What began as a small home gathering, is now a growing congregation of about 1,500.
The city of Columbia has a reputation for progressive politics, public art, and powerful journalism. As a result, Woodcrest’s Vision is squarely aimed at the Skeptic, Culturally-Aware, Frustrated, and Spiritually Curious demographic of Columbia. Woodcrest has identified this group the 10% or “one-in-ten.” To reach this demographic, Woodcrest’s worship and arts regularly takes risks in an effort to bridge the gap between cultures and backgrounds.
The culture at Woodcrest values “Process and Product” (evaluating and ensuring both are executed with excellence). They can be experienced in every area of ministry. As the staff plan, create, and innovate, Woodcrest believes that no task or goal is worth jeopardizing their relationships with each other or their community.
Woodcrest is looking for a Technical Director to provide leadership to their Staff and Volunteer Teams, equipping them to creatively use technology to communicate Biblical truth. The Technical Director will need to build best practices, systems, and guidelines so that the production experience of Woodcrest is consistent throughout venues and campuses. Expertise in digital audio production, stage lighting, scenic design, and live video production is required. This is a position for someone who is a strong, proven leader, who is more excited by the success of their teams than their own individual contributions. Experience with multi-site churches and broadcast video delivery is preferred.
