Teaching and Discipleship Pastor
Christ Community Church
This is an incredible opportunity for a gifted Teaching and Discipleship Pastor to live and lead in an authentic and future-focused ministry environment.
The largest protestant church in Omaha, Christ Community Church (CCC), began its life 92 years ago as the Omaha Gospel Tabernacle. Their current leader, Mark Ashton, joined the staff in 2006 as their Lead Pastor – coming from Willow Creek Community Church where he served as Pastor of Spiritual Discovery. His passions are clearly defined in two areas, evangelism and missions, which are reflected in the life of the church. Close to 4000 worshipers attend CCC each week. It is a thriving multi-venue church with a passion to plant churches in Omaha and around the world.
In the Omaha metro, CCC is known for their outreach to kids and students, for excellent worship and as advocates for social justice issues. Their missional influence is felt strongly in the heart of Omaha through numerous serving and outreach initiatives. Omaha is a surprising city. With a metro population of almost one million, it ranks 4th in America’s best cities. Kiplinger’s recently rated Omaha as the #1 best place to raise a family.
Christ Community Church is searching for a dynamic Teaching and Discipleship Pastor with a heart for discipling the millennial generation to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This position will preach approximately 12-18 times per year to the entire congregation as well as work with the discipleship staff to reach and shepherd young adult professionals in the Omaha metro area.
CCC is looking for someone with an exceptional ability to dynamically communicate the Word of God to a large audience in a way that is biblically-grounded and shepherds people towards a devoted, discipleship-focused relationship with Jesus. They must have proven experience and established passion for making disciples, not only from the pulpit, but in one-on-one and small group relationships. Knowledge and experience in developing and training small group leaders as well as facilitating a large network of small groups in a growing church is important. It is important be a magnetic, outgoing personality who loves to engage everyone, with the ultimate goal of making disciples. Lastly, it is important he be in doctrinal alignment with the core beliefs of the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
