Position Description *
|The primary responsibility of the Growth Pastor is to help every person take their next step toward Jesus and their next step toward community at Ascent through strategic planning, recruitment and training. This role will develop and improve existing plans to make our church “scalable” in its discipleship methodology.
Growth Pastor expected outcomes:
Define an overall discipleship plan, from unchurched newcomer to devoted follower of Christ, by December 2019.
Track every newcomer to Ascent for six months with a demonstrated 30% retention rate at the conclusion of each 6-month period.
Identify leadership teams required for discipleship plan. Recruit teams by January 2019.
Examine every portion of Sunday morning experience to ensure it meets the above goals and present plan by Nov. 1, 2018.
Define all complex systems that need maintaining by Dec. 2018 and a plan to do so by Move-In Day for Ascent into its new facility.
Retention rate is high, plans and systems are scalable, leaders are recruited and trained.
Build on the developed discipleship plan, refine and improve so Ascent becomes a hub for deep growth in Christ.
Ascent grows into a church that is among the top of its peers in Retention Rate of newcomers.
