Director of Modern Worship
Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church
|Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church is prayerfully seeking someone who will lead the modern worship services spiritually, musically and relationally in pursuit of passionate, modern worship that engages the entire church. Multiple generations, both young families and seniors, love the church for its strong preaching, engagement with the community, and its family-friendly environment.
Located less than an hour from Seattle, Gig Harbor is one of the most desirable communities in the South Sound region. Outside the church, Chapel Hill families are active, enjoying the water and the mountains, and the cost of housing is “affordable” compared to other west coast cities, including Seattle.
|Church Description *|
|Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church has proclaimed the name of Jesus in Gig Harbor, Washington since 1963. As the largest church in Gig Harbor, its influence in the community has never been stronger. For over 30 years, Senior Pastor, Mark Toone, has provided Chapel Hill with godly leadership, strong Bible preaching, and an unwavering commitment to “present everyone mature in Christ.” He champions the values of “action, with excellence and integrity”, courage, and “[engaging] with the world unpretentiously.”
Currently, Chapel Hill welcomes over 1,000 adults each week between two modern services and one blended service. Today, both the blended service and the modern services are executed intentionally, with excellence and a strong desire to be led by the Spirit. Attracting almost 60% of Chapel Hill’s weekly attenders, the modern services connect worshipers to God in a compelling and intimate way. The modern service is highly interpersonal and engaging, and has passionate worship (similar in style to Bethel or Hillsong). There is a strong desire at Chapel Hill to be a community that is radically devoted to Jesus, to one another, and to reaching the greater Gig Harbor community with the gospel.

|Chapel Hill has a vision for intentional development of the modern services to be more relevant, engaging and accessible to the culture of the community. The Director of Modern Worship will play a significant role in carrying out this vision as they set the direction for the modern worship experience each week.
The church is looking for a leader in the worship ministry who will join the leadership team and support the vision and values of the church—one who will creatively lead modern worship, maintain strong biblical standards in his life and ministry, and operate with a caring shepherding heart. The Director of Modern Worship will not only provide leadership for the two modern services each week, but also musical and spiritual leadership, mentorship, and discipleship for the volunteers who serve in this ministry. This position works alongside the Director of Technology to develop the technical aspects of worship (lights, visual elements, tracks, etc.) and the Director of Blended Worship to coordinate common elements for both services.
