McLean Bible Church
McLean Bible Church is an incredibly genuine and authentic body of believers with a feverish passion for the gospel and proclaiming it. Join them as the new Children’s Pastor as they pursue the mission of reaching the lost both foreign and domestically with zeal!
McLean Bible Church has an incredible legacy of impact throughout the world through its influence in our nation’s capital. They are a community that values scripture and the church’s responsibility through the biblical mandate to go and make disciples of all nations. They are a church with five campuses across the D.C. area with an overall average weekend attendance of almost 10,000, with close to 6,000 attending the Tysons Campus.
There is an energy in the air at MBC that can’t be described or duplicated. The halls are filled with people and families excited about church and experiencing God. There is a unique blend of traditional reverence and modern creativity. MBC has just undergone a major shift in leadership and staff. Last year, David Platt answered the call to become the Teaching Pastor at McLean. This has created a renewed sense of passion and conviction to reach those far from Christ, both around the corner and around the world.
McLean has a deep and rich heritage as a 60-year-old congregation. They are a non-denominational church, but are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and are conservative in their views and beliefs, with a strong emphasis on discipleship and outreach.
Kids Quest is the dynamic children’s ministry of MBC. It reaches 1,000 kids each week through its weekend programming. Through worship, Bible teaching, small groups, and a variety of fun activities, kids of all ages can discover and develop a relationship with Jesus, peers, and caring leaders.
With multiple direct reports and a large team of staff and volunteers is vital that the Children’s Pastor be a developer-leader who is investing in the ministry leaders to help them reach their greatest potential. The new Children’s Pastor in this role must have the ability to develop a team approach to ministry and create an atmosphere of challenge and support for all of the Family Ministry teams.
The Senior Leadership Team of MBC has a deep desire to see Kids’ Quest become a cornerstone and growth engine for the church. The new Children’s Pastor will only be limited by their own ability to have vision and ability to dream up an incredible ministry. The expectation of the new leader will be to develop the Children’s Ministry for the future of MBC.
