Brooklife Church in Mukwanago WI is looking for a dynamic leader in Children’s Ministry to continue building on the strong foundation that has already been laid. Executive Pastor Julie Scheibe is the previous leader of the Children’s Ministry and has recently transitioned into her new role. This is exciting because there will be a strong partnership with the churches new Children’s Pastor and senior leadership. This position is a great opportunity for someone with a proven track record to really take a dynamic ministry to the next level.
Over 30 years ago, people started praying for a church to begin in Mukwonago that would reach out to people who are far from God. Over the years, a grassroots movement began amongst families from Elmbrook Church (Brookfield, WI). Some of them began to gather in homes to pray that God would start a new church in Mukwonago. As the council of Elders at Elmbrook Church listened to this desire, looked at the area, and listened to God, they decided to go forward with the idea. Brooklife would become the 12th daughter or granddaughter church of Elmbrook. (Although at that time, Brooklife did not have an official name and was affectionately called “Mukbrook”).
In 2007, the elders asked Jason and Heather Webb to lead the new church plant initiative. On April 29, 2007, people came together for the first time at Elmbrook Church to dream of what God could do through a new church in nearby Mukwonago. 167 people showed up! On January 6, 2008, Brooklife’s doors officially opened to the public at Clarendon Avenue Elementary School. Today Brooklife has grown to become a staple church in the community.
Brooklife is looking for a Children’s Pastor to head up Kidlife, the remarkable children’s ministry at Brooklife. Every week there are almost hundreds of kids that experience God in a new way through the dynamic experiences for each age group. Kidlife uses orange curriculum and strategy for all age groups in a large group/small group format focused on the importance of relationships with each other and small group leaders.
God has called Brooklife to not only reach the next generation but empower them to change the world around them. They believe that kids and students are not just the future of the church; they are the church. Thus, they will do whatever it takes to bring them into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. This includes equipping parents on how to spiritually nurture their children. Brooklife does whatever it takes to help people find life in Christ. As a result, they will take risks, be innovative and not be afraid to fail in order that they may most effectively speak to an ever-changing society. The new Children’s Pastor must do the same.
